Winchmore Hill Bowls Club

Welcome

Our club offers a friendly welcome to players of all standards and abilities and there is a thriving community of about 200 members, both playing and social.

You can join either as a full member (bowling and social) or as a social member (non- bowling).

Bowling

The Club has a reputation for offering one of the best greens in North London. We compete in the Finchley & District Bowls Association and in the Middlesex County League and there is also a full programme of internal and inter-club friendly league matches and competitions.

We have club ‘roll ups’ every Wednesday and Friday evening. These sessions are open to all members for practice and are a great way for new bowlers to meet other players, play in a friendly game and develop their skills.

The Club maintains an (link) online booking system. Members may book a rink for practice (or to play matches) at any time during opening hours, except for Tuesday and Thursday mornings. These times are reserved for green maintenance.

The playing season runs from mid-April to the end of September.

Social events

If you prefer to join as a social member we also have a varied programme of events for the autumn and winter season when the bowling season finishes.

Facilities

The Club has its own barrier-controlled car park with access directly to the Club grounds. There is a spacious clubhouse with a bar, fully-equipped kitchen, toilets and women’s changing room. There is also a separate men's changing room which is being renovated this year.

Lawn bowling is a fun game, suitable for all ages, which is not too physically demanding. We welcome complete beginners as well as experienced bowlers. Every new bowler will receive coaching tailored to their level of ability and experience.
